Earlier this year, Fort Lauderdale-based Premier Beverage Co. became Breakthru Beverage Florida. Breakthru distributes to bars, restaurants, grocery and liquor stores and any other retail business licensed to sell wine or spirits. Breakthru’s Florida operations, facilities, brand portfolio and leadership remained the same.
Breakthru employs more than 1,250 people in the Sunshine State. Employees work in receiving, filling orders, delivery, sales, marketing and education.
Chris Nicolas, Senior Vice President, Breakthru Beverage Florida, explains that Breakthru has made a big investment in a 577,00 square foot, state-of-the-art, LEED certified Tampa warehouse. Breakthru’s fine wines are stored in a 60,000 square foot temperature-controlled “cool room.”
Breakthru’s fine wines are transported in refrigerated trucks. On any given day, Breakthru has over 200 trucks in the market delivering thousands of cases to bars, restaurants, grocery stores and liquor stores like Jimmy Valenty’s Pasadena Liquors & Fine Wines.
Retailer Jimmy Valenty credits his wine and spirits distributors with keeping Pasadena Liquors at the leading-edge. “All the distributors are helpful, but Breakthru has been especially helpful keeping us informed of emerging trends,” says Valenty.
The wine and spirits selection would impress even the most discriminating wine and spirits connoisseur. “Within our mix of over 7,000 packages, Breakthru carries products from virtually every corner of the world. If a country is making a wine or spirit, Breakthru can properly house it here. Retailers can count on us to provide that variety,” said Nicolas.
